Celebrating Leadership in Our Province - Featuring Meredith Maywood

Join us in celebrating Meredith Maywood.

Growing up on PEI, Meredith started working in the tourism sector at an early age, serving at community lobster suppers for tips and then at a local resort.  The Island gifted Meredith with a passion for local stories and weaving them into the visitor experience. This passion led her to an education in Tourism Geography and Environmental Studies.  Upon graduating she worked in the Tourism sector at a winery, conservation area and several municipalities.   With a family move her path deviated into community development. The pull of tourism and hospitality brought her back into the field in 2013 when she accepted a position leading Oxford County’s DMO division.  Since that time, she has had the pleasure of supporting businesses in creating new tourism products and partnerships. This includes the award-winning Oxford County Cheese Trail, Oxford Fresh and one of the largest suites of rural visitor experiences in Ontario.  “In Tourism I get to work with high energy, social and creative people.  That is the workforce I want to be a part of.”

Is there an Ontario tourism leader you think should be featured here? Let us know at feedback@tiaontario.ca.
