Ontario Permitting Sale of Locally-Made Craft Beer at Farmers’ Markets, Supporting Recovery of Local Brewers

Eligible brewers of locally-made craft beer will now be able to sell their products at Ontario farmers’ markets, joining wineries, cideries, and distillers.

Licensed eligible brewers across the province can apply to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) to occasionally extend their on-site stores to sell Ontario beer at farmers’ markets. Brewers whose full brewing process takes place in Ontario at their own brewery will be permitted to sell their products at the over 180 farmers’ markets across the province.

The regulatory change supports the recovery of Ontario’s local brewers, who are a key part of the agri-food sector within Ontario’s tourism and hospitality industry.
