Have you been wanting to try alpine skiing or snowboarding but haven’t had the chance? Join Go Skiing Go Snowboarding and the Ontario Snow Resorts Association as they set up a ski hill in Nathan Phillips Square in mid-February.
Free to downtown dwellers, commuters, families and anyone who wants to try sliding on snow, this unique city-based experience is designed to invite as many first timers to try winter snow sports in the heart of Toronto on February 15 and 16 from 12:00pm to 8:00pm.
Everything will be provided to help snowsports-curious Torontonians turn their winter blues into winter WooHoos as they learn to love the joy that snow can bring. From skis and snowboards, boots and instruction all they have to do is sign up.
“Skiing and snowboarding are an essential part of Canadian culture. By bringing the snow to downtown Toronto, the Ontario Snow Resorts Association is demonstrating its collective commitment to introducing as many people as possible to the joys of being outdoors and sliding on snow during winter”, says Kevin Nichol, President of the Ontario Snow Resorts Association.
In addition to its mission of increasing participation in snow sports across the country with innovative and interactive events like this, Go Skiing Go Snowboarding ensures they are a one stop shop for anyone who wants to learn all they need to know before they go and provides snow lovers deals, incentives and packages to make them fall in love with snow from the get go.
“We feel that once people try sliding on snow they are simply going to learn to love winter all over again,” says Paul Pinchbeck, President and CEO of the Canadian Ski Council. “At GoSkiingGoSnowboarding.ca we offer information so people can find everything they need before they head out to the hills, packages that offer newbies the chance to try the sport for $25 that includes tickets, lessons and rentals, to bundled packages of lift passes to help returning enthusiasts save on ticket prices.”
Come join us to show your Canadian pride on February 15 and 16 and celebrate in true Canadian style.
