Wikwemikong Tourism is seeking highly motivated individuals that are interested in learning and sharing the Anishnaabe Culture through our Authentic Anishinaabe Cultural Experiences. The successful candidates will train and work under the guidance of Enaadmaagehjik’s Tourism Team.

DUTIES:

• To learn, share and engage with visitors about the Anishinaabe Culture, language and history on Manitoulin Islandand Killarney.
• To deliver all tours including individual, group, motor coach and Familiarization tours in a safe, respectful, and authentic manner that is aligned with Anishinaabe Bimaadzwin.
• Participate in Cultural Guide Training inclusive of Traditional Anishnaabe Knowledge and industry related training
• Assist with maintaining tourism assets, spaces, supplies, and equipment including canoes, hiking trails, andhistoric sites
• Forage for natural ingredients and other natural materials for Cultural experiences.
• Ensure that all necessary and relevant documentation is completed by guests and maintain customers’ evaluations for reporting purposes.
• Assist with developing new Tourism products and/or enhance existing products
• Assist with tourism related events
• Deliver superior customer service and model service excellence delivery with Tourism Ambassadors and guests.
• Working in compliance with the Occupation Health and Safety Act and its Regulations and any workplace practices as directed by the employer
• Perform other assigned duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of and or willing to learn about Anishinabek history, language and cultural practices.
• Experience in delivering cultural tours, workshops and/or delivering land-based programming is considered asset.
• Preference given to members of Wikwemikong Unceded Territory but all First Nation applicants are encouraged to apply
• Must be comfortable speaking with the general public in small and large group settings
• Ability to organize and set priorities; work independently and contribute to the team dynamics
• Must provide Criminal Reference Check and will be subject to the responsibilities of the position
• Class G license is an asset
• Full-time and part-time employment positions available.

Renumeration: $20.00- $30/Hour -Depending on Experience
