Update To Proof Of Vaccination In Quick Service Restaurants

Update To Proof Of Vaccination In Quick Service Restaurants

As of September 22, the Government of Ontario has amended regulations to provide quick service restaurants greater flexibility when requesting proof of vaccination from patrons. Currently, proof of vaccination is not required to place, pay for, or pick up an order—however, proof of vaccination is required for indoor dining. Under O. Reg 659/21, quick service restaurants will now have the option to verify proof of vaccination at the order counter, food bar, or cafeteria line (not necessarily at the point of entry to the restaurant) for customers who indicate they would like to dine-in. This amendment does not apply to bars, nightclubs, restoclubs, or similar establishments.
