AMO Preparations Underway

AMO Preparations Underway
30 May 2024 by Andrew Siegwart

Municipalities in Ontario are on the front lines dealing with pressing community and economic issues like attainable housing, workforce development, transportation access, community safety, destination management, raising revenues from a limited number of tools such as accommodation taxes, and more.

This is why TIAO’s advocacy team is preparing now to represent the industry’s needs at the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Conference taking place on August 18-24, 2024 in Ottawa.

TIAO will bring together a powerhouse delegation of regional and sectoral tourism industry advocates as well as economic development leaders to make sure the voice of tourism is heard. During the event, the tourism delegation will meet with more than a dozen Ontario Ministers and their teams to advocate for: investments in local market recovery and growth, enabling infrastructure, healthy labour markets, and collaborative, data-driven decision making!

Please reach out to me directly at asiegwart@tiaontario.ca with any issues you feel need to be brought forward during this year’s AMO Conference.

We still have room for two more Members to join TIAO’s AMO delegation. If interested, please reach out to Carol Greenwood at cgreenwood@tiaontario.ca.

Sincerely,

Andrew Siegwart
