About Town of Prescott

Nestled along the St. Lawrence River in the heart of the GTA-Montreal-Ottawa triangle, Prescott offers a vibrant waterfront experience that comes alive from spring through fall, transitioning to an abundance of indoor/outdoor winter experiences.  Prescott Tourism (Explore Prescott), a division of the Economic Development Department, manages the tourism portfolio for the Town.

Products & Services

The RiverWalk District is a hub of activity, welcoming visitors to explore scenic parks, bustling markets, and unique local businesses. Our Port of Call is a favorite stop for impressive yachts and cruise ships like the Canadian Empress, while scuba divers explore the depths of the St. Lawrence at our dive park.

With nearly uninterrupted public access, visitors can enjoy everything from Centennial Park’s splash pad and Kelly’s Bay beach to the Heritage Trail, RiverWalk Park, and the Sandra S. Lawn Harbour & Marina. The Prescott Pop-Ups, located right along the waterfront, add a dynamic touch with seasonal retail, artisans, food trucks.  Self-guided lighthouse tours offer breathtaking views of the river and historic sites like Fort Wellington, a perfectly preserved 19th century military fortification with interactive tours from May to October.

Prescott is also home to exciting events throughout the year! The King Street Promenade transforms the downtown into a pedestrian-friendly street festival, while the Prescott Ribfest will bring delicious barbecue and live entertainment to the waterfront over Father’s Day Weekend. The Farmers’ & Crafters’ Market offer fresh local goods and handmade crafts, while the Kinsmen Amphitheatre hosts concerts, events and the renowned St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival overlooking the river from July through August.

Stay a while and experience all that Prescott has to offer. The town’s accommodations range from charming historic B&Bs to the recently opened Quality Inn & Suites; offering visitors with the perfect place to rest after a day of exploration. And if you come by water our fully serviced marina and harbour is the perfect stopover to stretch your legs and explore!  Prescott is also a designated Ontario by Bike Bike-Friendly Business Area, with cycling amenities and scenic routes ideal for active travelers.
