The Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO) is poised for a new chapter in its journey and seeks an exceptional leader as its President and Chief Executive Officer to deliver on its mandate “to connect the industry with a unified voice on behalf of a diverse, inclusive tourism industry in Ontario”.

The President and CEO will be the charismatic voice of the Tourism Industry in Ontario. Passionate, dynamic, and driven to succeed, the new CEO will have an aptitude for relationship building, with a particular affinity for fostering consensus, advocacy and public speaking. You will increase public awareness and media coverage, recommend strategic direction to the Board, and safeguard lasting and constructive relationships with government, industry, and other tourism groups. An excellent listener and superb communicator, the CEO will continue to ensure the Tourism Industry in Ontario is well served by a high performing and dynamic industry association.

As an ideal candidate, you are a skilled leader with experience building lasting and constructive partnership networks, including with Indigenous businesses and communities. You understand the machinery and decision-making processes of provincial and federal governments, and you have experience working with Boards, stakeholders and industry partners. Your aptitude for managing human and financial resources is complemented by your proficiency in financial analysis and strategic planning. You excel when working with a wide variety of stakeholders and are comfortable acting as both the internal and external representative for your organization. You are characterised by your peers as a visionary leader with impeccable integrity, and a proven ability to drive change. Your experience in association management as well as understanding of the tourism sector are significant assets, as is your knowledge of the 94 Calls To Action and how to apply them to the tourism industry.
